The ministry of Jackson’s Web was founded in memory of Jackson. Jackson was diagnosed with Fanconi Anemia in 2009 and spent the next year of his life in the outpatient Hematology/Oncology Clinic and inpatient at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. He passed away in 2010 due to complications after a bone marrow transplant, at the age of 5 years old. Jackson’s Web was established with the hope of providing opportunities to support families affected by the stress of their child’s illness and to bring a smile to hospitalized children.
My daughter was recently hospitalized at HDVCH for a week due to bilateral pneumonia. She received a beautiful pillowcase with brightly colored butterflies on it from the childlife specialist. It did so much to brighten her mood as well as the room. Everyone that came into her room commented on it. After following up on line to the Jackson’s Web paper that was in the package, I have now learned about this wonderful ministry. Thank you.
Today, I received a beautiful pillow case from Jackson’s web when I was at my oncology clinic visit. It was in a bag on my chart from the Child Life Specialist. I’m 16 years old with a diagnosis of a soft tissue sarcoma of the chest at Stage IV. I receive radiation daily and chemo almost weekly. This gift made he smile and I have the prefect pillow that needs a pretty pillow case. I would like to thank this ministry for putting a smile on my face and inspiring me today.
God Bless!

Thank you for the wonderful gift of the firemen pillow case. What made this pillow case even more special is that he has a blanket made fron the same print. My son is 12 yrs old and has a mild form of Von Wildebrands Disease. He also has Autism which makes moments like this difficult. On this particular visit he was terrified that he may have to have a “poke”. Fortunately he never had to have a blood test. The pillow case is treasured just the same.
It is stories like Jackson’s that God reminds me that we are truly blessed.
Thank you, The Loudens
